Rebuilding the Walls of the Human Soul – Part 15

“Resisting the Attacks of the Adversary”

Neh. 4:11-23

We continue today in our study of the book of Nehemiah and the incredible analogy of the working of the Holy Spirit in restoring our personalities, and comparing that to the work of Nehemiah in rebuilding the walls of the city of Jerusalem.

We go through life, and events happen that serve to destroy personalities and hamper our development and growth, we are literally crippled in our personalities and we just can’

The Nature of Spiritual Bondage

The rebuilding of the human personality is likened to the rebuilding process that the people went through as they rebuilt the city of Jerusalem, it takes a long time, and it is not without opposition from an enemy that is interested in stopping the progress and in keeping you and I in bondage.

The restoring of the human personality takes time, there is no pill to take that makes the process happen overnight….

Rebuilding the Walls of the Human Soul – Part 13

“The Influence of Evil Spirits on Believers”

We are using the book of Nehemiah as a text to study the work of the Holy Spirit in rebuilding the human personality, much like Nehemiah came to help in the rebuilding of the walls of Jerusalem.

As we look at the text today we are coming to a topic that sometimes causes a lot of fear, or apprehension in some people; to what degree have evil spirits the power to influence believers in Jesus Christ? In other words, can a Christian have a demon?

Nehemiah 4:7-9

“Dealing with Doubts!”

This whole series is an answer to the question; “how do I get my life together? I am born again, but my life is still in shambles, my mind is out of control and my actions are proof of a decision making process that is terribly messed up.” I get that question almost every day from people who love Jesus but the proof of that love is not evident by the choices and actions they make.

If you believe like I do that Jesus did not die on the cross just for my salvation but also so that I could be set free from the sin of my past and be made whole in every area of my life…

Nehemiah is an analogy of the work of the Holy Spirit in rebuilding my life and my personality…

Nehemiah 4:3-6

“The Adversary’s Attack on Your Hope”

The book of Nehemiah is an analogy of the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. We are saved but the ruble and the burned out gates keep my life in a state of dysfunction.

Neh. 4:1-6

Satan knows that he has lost the battle in your life, and so he is left with only the chance to make life as miserable for you as he can. There are a lot of people whose destination is heaven but their life here and now is a living hell; it is not God’s wish that we just hang on and endure till we all go home…

Our home may be heaven, but have we learned to gain leverage, power and dominion over the enemy?
