Rebuilding the Walls of the Human Soul – Part 11

“The Adversary’s Attack on Your Hope”

The book of Nehemiah is an analogy of the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. We are saved but the ruble and the burned out gates keep my life in a state of dysfunction.

Neh. 4:1-6

Satan knows that he has lost the battle in your life, and so he is left with only the chance to make life as miserable for you as he can. There are a lot of people whose destination is heaven but their life here and now is a living hell; it is not God’s wish that we just hang on and endure till we all go home…

Our home may be heaven, but have we learned to gain leverage, power and dominion over the enemy?

“My Responsibility to Your Spiritual Growth”

As we continue our study of the book of Nehemiah, I have to admit I have been surprised how every week we find such nuggets of truth that apply to our world right here and now.

If you will, look at your life like the walls of a city; things have happened to you and I, we have been betrayed, we have been rejected, gone through divorces, abused, let down, and lots of other things that are too

Rebuilding the Walls – Part 9

“God’s View of Human Perfection”

We are in the middle of a series where we are taking an obscure book of the bible, Nehemiah and using it as an analogy of the Holy Spirit coming to complete and restore the human personality…

So as we continue we come to the question of how does God feel about my imperfections? Does He look on my human condition with disgust and fury or does He identify with me and regard me as His own? How does He view my brokenness

“Confession and Baptism with the Holy Spirit”

There is an amazing number of people that want Jesus to just perform a miracle and just snap his fingers and heal them completely; but often times, in fact most times it is a process of growth, learning to overcome the things in our past, a healing process that is on-going.

We are saved but the process of growing and being healed from the effects of poor choices and sin that has damaged a

Freedom From Condemnation

Nehemiah 2:11-16

How can I overcome the dysfunction in my life, I am saved, I love what Jesus is doing, but I just can’t get my life together, I can’t seem to move past the pain and hurt that I have done or that has been done to me there is just so much rubble…

Those are some of the many questions I get all the time, why can’t I be different? Why can’t I be more like Christ and get over this junk I am a part of?

We

*** The recording had technical difficulties, so starts a few minutes into the sermon.

So welcome to another week in our look at the analogy of Nehemiah returning to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem and the work of the Holy Spirit in rebuilding the human personality. We come to Christ and we are born again, but our personality is still terribly distressed and without functionality; thank God that He sends His Spirit to live in us and to complete the work of restoring what has been des

Rebuilding the Walls of the Human Soul – Part 4

Bondage vs. Captivity

We are in week four of our series on the book of Nehemiah; we are using the book of Nehemiah as an analogy of the work of the Holy Spirit in restoring the human personality. We are a three part being; we are a spirit, we live in a body and we have a soul. (1 Thess. 5:23)

At salvation our spirit is new and alive but our soul is still suffering from the effects of sin. Our soul is made up of three parts:

  1. Our intellect— how we think

Feed the 500 2012

Thank you for joining us at our Thanksgiving celebration.

I was thinking and doing some praying about what I wanted to talk about this morning, we have just started a new series where we are talking about the power of God to really help us to heal from our past, but I want to talk to you this morning for just a few minutes about what I call the 5 basic things about Christianity.
