Our Mission & Vision

Our strategy is simple;
LOVE—We can love others because Jesus loved us first.
MEND—We understand that we are all broken and need the healing only Jesus can bring.
TRAIN— The live the abundant life Jesus has for us involves the renewing of our mind through the power of God’s word
SEND— Christ encourages us to reach our friends, family and neighbors with the powerful story of what He has done for us.

Leadership Team:

Our leadership team recognizes the authority of God, and realizes that we are shepherds who serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Our passion and goal is to equip the believers for the work of the ministry until we all attain maturity in the fullness of Christ.

Giving

We believe giving is at the heart of the message of the Gospel. John 3:16 says, “God loved the world so much that He gave…” Money can be a sensitive issue in the context of church, but it is also one of the best determining factors on the disposition of our hearts, according to Jesus (Matthew 6:19).

We use “GIVEPLUS+” for quick, easy and safe online giving.

Here is how we see it:

PEOPLE ARE MOST IMPORTANT

As a church, people are the focus of everything we do, not their money. We don’t view things through the lens of a donor base, giving units or pet projects for those with money. We want everyone who comes to feel welcome, whether or not you give financially toward our cause.

FINANCIAL GIVING IS FIRST AND FOREMOST ABOUT WORSHIP

Some people give out of duty, others give as an investment to get something back, but neither is the biblical mandate for giving. Giving is an act of worship between you and God and therefore should not be done out of compulsion or guilt (Rom. 12:1; 1 Cor. 9:6-8).

WE PREFER TO SEE IT AS WHAT WE GIVE OUT, NOT WHAT WE BRING IN.

Those who generously contribute to Lake City know that it is to benefit the people who walk in the doors and the community where we live.  Plus we believe in supporting church plants nationally and around the world.

LIFE ISN’T ABOUT MONEY, BUT IT IS NECESSARY IN SOCIETY

We wish we lived in a utopian society where we could get free use of facilities and unlimited free data packages on cell phones. But the reality is that we have budgeted items that need to be funded to keep things moving along. We’re doing our best to work with a lean budget that reflects what we feel is important to God.

SOAP

S for Scripture

Open your Bible to the reading found under today’s date of the reading plan. Take time reading and allow God to speak to you. When you are done, look for a verse that particularly spoke to you that day, write it in your journal.

O for Observation

What do you think God is saying to you in this scripture? Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you and reveal Jesus to you. Paraphrase and write this scripture down in your on words, in your journal.

A for Application

Personalize what you have read, by asking yourself how it applies to your life right now. Perhaps it is instruction, encouragement, revelation of a new promise, or corrections for a particular area of your life. Write how this scripture can apply to you today.

P for Prayer

This can be as simple as asking God to help you use this scripture, or it may be a greater insight on what He may be revealing to you. Remember, prayer is a two way conversation, so be sure to listen to what God has to say. Now write it down.

The Best Gift Ever!

Well I want to say a big happy mother’s day to all of the women here with us today and to all of you that have joined us online this morning. Now I have to admit something to you this morning, I usually don’t do mother’s day messages, or at least I haven’t in a long time. But this day I decided that it was time for me to buckle down and take a morning and tell each of you just how honored we are to have you in our lives.
Mother’s day is a day that has a lot of different emotions attac

Christianity 101 – Part 1

So the other day I found myself praying and thinking back to all the water that has gone under the bridge of being in the pastorate for as long as I have, and as I thought about it I began to hear the Lord speak to me about what it really takes to move from “salvation” to walking in the authority as a believer in Christ, becoming the successful follower verses the also ran.
I want to share some of that with you this morning; how do I become a person that exercises the authority over circums

Easter 2013 – Walls

As you can probably tell from the set behind me, I’m going to talk to you about walls. Can anyone guess what’s the most famous wall that’s ever been built probably in all of human history? It’s the Great Wall of China. Four thousand miles long. Took a thousand years to build.

The Wall of China actually didn’t protect the country that well. Because it was so long and so difficult to defend, the enemies would just wait for when the guards weren’t around and they would hoist up ladde

Rebuilding the Walls of the Human Soul – Part 19

“Commitment, Dedication and Consecration”

Nehemiah 10-13

So as we continue our study in the book of Nehemiah, one of the things we begin to discover in our journey with God, is that it is never a one-time decision, sure salvation is just the beginning, but it is an on-going commitment to follow Christ and allow Him to lead me…

Am I going to continue to live in the resources of His word and the power of His spirit? A daily almost moment by moment decision… we all face the decision on whether or not we are going to make commitment to the Lord, remembering that what he invites us into is a covenant relationship with Him.

Part 18 of the Series – Rebuilding the Walls of the Human Soul

Rebuilding the Walls of the Human Soul – Part 17

“Quenching, Resisting and Sinning Against the Holy Spirit”
As we continue in our study of the book of Nehemiah, where we are drawing an analogy of the working of the Holy Spirit as it compares to the working of Nehemiah in rebuilding the walls of the city of Jerusalem.
What a journey we have been on, looking how the Lord has sent to us the Holy Spirit, to lead us in the process of rebuilding and restoring the human personality. We go through life and we make choices, or things are done to
