Our Mission & Vision

Our strategy is simple;
LOVE—We can love others because Jesus loved us first.
MEND—We understand that we are all broken and need the healing only Jesus can bring.
TRAIN— The live the abundant life Jesus has for us involves the renewing of our mind through the power of God’s word
SEND— Christ encourages us to reach our friends, family and neighbors with the powerful story of what He has done for us.

Leadership Team:

Our leadership team recognizes the authority of God, and realizes that we are shepherds who serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Our passion and goal is to equip the believers for the work of the ministry until we all attain maturity in the fullness of Christ.

Giving

We believe giving is at the heart of the message of the Gospel. John 3:16 says, “God loved the world so much that He gave…” Money can be a sensitive issue in the context of church, but it is also one of the best determining factors on the disposition of our hearts, according to Jesus (Matthew 6:19).

We use “GIVEPLUS+” for quick, easy and safe online giving.

Here is how we see it:

PEOPLE ARE MOST IMPORTANT

As a church, people are the focus of everything we do, not their money. We don’t view things through the lens of a donor base, giving units or pet projects for those with money. We want everyone who comes to feel welcome, whether or not you give financially toward our cause.

FINANCIAL GIVING IS FIRST AND FOREMOST ABOUT WORSHIP

Some people give out of duty, others give as an investment to get something back, but neither is the biblical mandate for giving. Giving is an act of worship between you and God and therefore should not be done out of compulsion or guilt (Rom. 12:1; 1 Cor. 9:6-8).

WE PREFER TO SEE IT AS WHAT WE GIVE OUT, NOT WHAT WE BRING IN.

Those who generously contribute to Lake City know that it is to benefit the people who walk in the doors and the community where we live.  Plus we believe in supporting church plants nationally and around the world.

LIFE ISN’T ABOUT MONEY, BUT IT IS NECESSARY IN SOCIETY

We wish we lived in a utopian society where we could get free use of facilities and unlimited free data packages on cell phones. But the reality is that we have budgeted items that need to be funded to keep things moving along. We’re doing our best to work with a lean budget that reflects what we feel is important to God.

SOAP

S for Scripture

Open your Bible to the reading found under today’s date of the reading plan. Take time reading and allow God to speak to you. When you are done, look for a verse that particularly spoke to you that day, write it in your journal.

O for Observation

What do you think God is saying to you in this scripture? Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you and reveal Jesus to you. Paraphrase and write this scripture down in your on words, in your journal.

A for Application

Personalize what you have read, by asking yourself how it applies to your life right now. Perhaps it is instruction, encouragement, revelation of a new promise, or corrections for a particular area of your life. Write how this scripture can apply to you today.

P for Prayer

This can be as simple as asking God to help you use this scripture, or it may be a greater insight on what He may be revealing to you. Remember, prayer is a two way conversation, so be sure to listen to what God has to say. Now write it down.

Identity

Words – Part 2

Words

You know life has a way of throwing us under the bus doesn’t it? I mean we have all these plans and dreams when we are young, and then stuff happens; some of the stuff is not our choice, we are abused, abandoned, rejected, we experience loss and hope begins to rapidly evaporate…

Some of the stuff is a result of our own choices; we are looking for some excitement, fun etc. and maybe we make choices that really tear away at the fabric of our lives; in any event both of those lead to death.

Tension – Part 2

Tension

So I want to dive right in this morning and look at a passage in the bible as a launching point;

Acts 11:19-24
Meanwhile, the believers who had been scattered during the persecution after Stephen’s death traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch of Syria. They preached the word of God, but only to Jews. However, some of the believers who went to Antioch from Cyprus and Cyrene began preaching to the Gentiles about the Lord Jesus. The power of the Lord was with them, and a large numb

Released From Offense – Part 3

How many of you can honestly say that there are people in your life that for no apparent reason they just “push” your buttons? Maybe it is the way they talk to you, approach subjects; maybe it is someone you work with or are in a ministry team with… they just get under your skin and no matter how hard you try to avoid it; they just tick you off and it doesn’t go well?

Got somebody in your “mind’s eye”?

Released From Offense – Part 2

A couple of weeks ago we touched on the subject of offense, this is so important to understand and to deal with because so many of us get de-railed by offenses; marriages struggle because of them, families get in trouble, friendships are wrecked by offenses, and even churches are struggling because of offenses…

So we wanted to take a look at what the bible has to say about the subject of offense…

Offenses will come!
Matt. 18:7 Woe to the world because of offenses! For offenses must

Surviving In The Desert

Released From Offense – Part One

I want to launch right in this morning and talk about a subject that I like to talk about every couple of years; I know I need to hear it and maybe you do too.

One of the most destructive forces the enemy uses against us to defeat us and lay us out is the tool of offense; getting us offended at others around us.

Offense has wiped out families, caused divorces, ruined churches, ended careers, caused wars….

We have all had occasion to get offended, probably today we had a chance to get
