Sermon Notes

We have been talking about the vision God has for this house, the mission He has for this house; what a time it has been, how good it is to refocus and to remind ourselves that our best days are in front of us, not behind us.

The mission; to make fully devoted followers of Jesus

The vision; to create a safe community where people can passionately pursue Jesus, experiencing love, acceptance and forgiveness…

As we press in, we crave intimacy with our Father and as we go closer, as we commit to fulfilling a vision, that quite frankly is impossible… without Jesus,
  • Impossible vision!!

When God gives a vision, it is impossible; every time God asks something of us, it is impossible without Him;

Matt. 19:26 Jesus looked hard at them and said, “No chance at all if you think you can pull it off yourself. Every chance in the world if you trust God to do it.”

When God calls, when He gives a vision, there is no chance to pull it off by you, but with Him, ALL things are not only possible but PROBABLE!

God gives us a vision to bring healing to people, to change the way church is done, and it will happen; maybe not overnight, it may not be easy, we will have to fight and we will have to trust; but it will happen if we don’t quit!

Now to really see people who want to find freedom find it, we have to be that house that loves, accepts and forgives unconditionally and that takes intimacy with our Father, and that intimacy flows from trust in Him and His word.

Gen. 12:1-5 God told Abram: “Leave your country, your family, and your father’s home for a land that I will show you.
I’ll make you a great nation
and bless you.
I’ll make you famous;
you’ll be a blessing.
I’ll bless those who bless you;
those who curse you I’ll curse.
All the families of the Earth
will be blessed through you.”
So Abram left just as God said, and Lot left with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he left Haran. Abram took his wife Sarai and his nephew Lot with him, along with all the possessions and people they had gotten in Haran, and set out for the land of Canaan and arrived safe and sound.

When I look at the passage we just read, some things stand out to me and I want to give them to you;
  • Trust
