Sermon Notes

So welcome. I love that the word is so clear that Jesus has not changed; in His character, His love towards us, His grace, His healing…

Heb. 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

That gives us incredible confidence that Jesus is still “in the game” He has not left us to our own devices to find healing and restoration; we should expect miraculous, immediate healing, deliverance and transformation in lives…

More and more I am drawn to the fact that the only hope for people is Jesus, we are hopelessly lost and wounded; choosing un-forgiveness and bitterness over freedom and joy, mostly because we don’t understand or trust that our father will provide and take care of us; He will do what needs to be done…

So recently I had a conversation with a friend of mine, he is a searcher; he had had an encounter that really rocked his world, and then a conversation that rocked it further. So we are talking and he says to me that he just needs proof that God is real, he wants to feel Him, and then he asks me; “why do you do what you do? Why do you follow Jesus? Why do you believe in God? What has he ever done for you?

Some pretty loaded questions! But as I think about them, they are pretty much the same questions I asked years ago, and some of those questions I ask myself still today…

Last week we talked about the vision of LCF and I read off to you a vision statement we are working on that goes like this;

Vision; to create a safe community where people can passionately pursue Jesus while learning to love others without condition, and to share His message with every person who will listen.

Now the final wording may be a little different, but that is pretty close to what we believe that God is saying to us.

So when I look at the vision that God gives to us, I do a lot if thinking and so today I want to tell you the story of why this vision is so important to me and I believe to this house…

There are a couple of reasons you have a clear vision, one of them I told you last week was it;

  • Paints the target.

Prov. 29:18 If people can’t see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; But when they attend to what he reveals, they are most blessed.
