I believe one of the greatest opportunities we have as a Christian is to be a person who gets to help other people find healing for all the junk in their life. Life has a way of beating us up, we live in a very sinful world and bad stuff happens to really good people. People are suffering from abuse, neglect, rejection; the list goes on and on. How awesome it is that you and I not only are recipients of God’s healing but we are also agents of His healing power to our world; that is exciting to me!!

In the bible, the devil is described as a lion on the prowl looking for people to destroy; he is looking for families to destroy, marriages, health, dreams, friendships, to destroy, but the word says we are not to be freaked out, because the one who lives in us, Jesus is greater than the best the devil can throw at us!

2 Peter 1:3-9

3 By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. 4 And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.
5 In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, 6 and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, 7 and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone.
8 The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 But those who fail to develop in this way are shortsighted or blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their old sins.

No one outside of Jesus is mentioned more in the new testament than Peter, he says more than any other, has said more about him than others, and for the most part he was an excellent man.
No doubt he made a lot of mistakes, but he was a passionate person who had a really low point in his life that most people would never recover from; he denied Christ.
From that event in his life he ended up with a scar on his life, he would carry that disappointment even though Jesus was quick to forgive and even restore him, Peter would carry that scar with him the rest of his life.
