I want to launch right in this morning and talk about a subject that I like to talk about every couple of years; I know I need to hear it and maybe you do too.

One of the most destructive forces the enemy uses against us to defeat us and lay us out is the tool of offense; getting us offended at others around us.

Offense has wiped out families, caused divorces, ruined churches, ended careers, caused wars….

We have all had occasion to get offended, probably today we had a chance to get offended over something that was said, or not said…

So let’s take a look at what the word says about offense and see if we can’t find a solution…

Matt. 18:7
Woe to the world because of offenses! For offenses must come, but woe to that man by whom the offense comes!

a. offenses must come.
b. woe to the man!

Offence= an offense happens when one has been displeased, or is displeased, has been enraged, been angered or sense a violation has occurred.
“I have been enraged, displeased and resentment comes, and I take offense to that!

Taking offense or being offended is a choice, you and I can choose too either take offense or leave it!

The word offense in the Greek= “skandalon; the part of the trap or snare that is baited.”
“Skandalon also means an occasion to fall.”

A skandalon is a special device the enemy uses to SET you up for a fall; you need to recognize the trap for what it is, and then move away from the trap!
