So welcome this morning, we are talking and have been for a few weeks about the subject of success in life, what it means to be successful, where does that success come from, how to be successful, and most importantly what, does God think about our success…

3 John 2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou would prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospers.
To that end we wound up talking about vision, what vision is, how to get a vision for life etc.

Last summer, I asked a team of people from the church to go on a journey with Laury and I in discovering together what God has for our church. We got together every other week or so, for several hours at a time and looked at our shared history, prophesies spoken over this house; we looked at things we thought we were doing well and we looked at things we knew needed to be improved on.

We enlisted the help of a couple of people from Bethel in California; Paul Manwaring and Anthony Hilder, both people who are very gifted on leading churches on a journey of discovery….

It was and is; we are still working through things, an incredible journey that was brought on by Laury and I asking ourselves and Jesus some questions and not being satisfied with simply leading this fantastic house for the next however many years satisfied with the status quo…

One of the many things we worked through was what exactly was our mission and how do we communicate it and honor that mission; why do we exist is another way to put it.

We came up with a very concise, forthright yet simple mission statement:

• “We exist to make fully devoted followers of Jesus; not just believers.”
