Sermon Notes

Many of us have a problem with the word Lord, “we are a free people and no one owns us or bosses us around…” so the concept of salvation; being saved from hell, is easy to grab a hold of; but to let Jesus be the Lord, or owner of my life is tough to swallow.
So we will “add a little religion, throw in a buck or two, because we own us and our stuff…

But to be a fully devoted follower goes farther than that, it is releasing my rights, my wants etc. and trusting my Father to love me enough that it is going to be better than before.
Here is a hard verse, get ready…

Luke 6:46-48 So why do you keep calling me ‘Lord, Lord!’ when you don’t do what I say? I will show you what it’s like when someone comes to me, listens to my teaching, and then follows it. It is like a person building a house who digs deep and lays the foundation on solid rock. When the floodwaters rise and break against that house, it stands firm because it is well built.

• Jesus sealed the victory.

Hell may try to come against your mind, but when I am being led by my born again spirit, and my mind is being renewed and I am walking in alignment, I have victory over what the enemy wants to throw at me.

1 John 3:8 But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil.

Now, Jesus shed His own blood to remove my sins; “without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins…” Heb. 9:22
