So last week we started to talk about this passage found in 2 Kings 4 where this widow lady; whose husband had served the prophet and God his whole life has died and now she is left with his debts and to pay them off her 2 sons are going to be sold into slavery; not a good thing!

Now from this part of the bible we can see ten things that I call “ingredients for a miracle” we hit 5 of them last week and to recap here they are;
1. Know where to go when you don’t know where to go.
2. Don’t seek an earthly messiah.
3. Find out what is in the house.
4. Pass on to the positive.
5. Faith is not faith until you do something with it!

If we are going to have miracles, it means we must have a great need; the bigger the need, the larger the miracle. So when we pray for miracles, we must be willing to go into the “big need” arena; it is in that place that God can perform miracles.

But for that to happen we have to have the ingredients for those miracles to take place; we have to have faith, we have to know where our source is, we have to be willing to focus on the positive…

I was talking to a young couple this week who want to start a church in Bridgeport, and they were talking about the “problems” in that town; gangs, drugs, lack of good jobs, single mothers; the list went on and on— problems!
But as we changed the talk from the “problems” and instead talked about the “opportunities” that single mothers, gangs, poverty, drugs etc. presented, their whole demeanor changed from “how are we going to solve these problems” to “oh boy, we are going to see some huge miracles!!”

Problems are the breeding ground for miracles,
2 Cor. 4:18 So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.

So let’s take a look at the next 5 ingredients for a miracle:
