Sermon Notes

So let’s get started; the word says that when we sin and then confess our dad is faithful to forgive and wipe our sin from the history books; great news!

1 John 1:9 On the other hand, if we admit our sins—make a clean breast of them—he won’t let us down; he’ll be true to himself. He’ll forgive our sins and purge us of all wrongdoing.

Now if we live with a persistent sense that we have done something wrong, we have failed in some way and that we are no longer welcome in the house; we begin to blame ourselves, wonder if God is punishing us, (that is why we tend to blame God for every bad thing that comes along…) but if you are actually waiting for bad things to happen, you may have the false guilt, the kind we have talked about the last 2 weeks, buried in your soul.

That false guilt, the kind that comes with condemnation and hopelessness will chip away at your life, robbing you of joy and passion and it is really time to deal with it.
Remember, guilt from sin has a remedy, false guilt has no hope with it, and condemnation and hopelessness is not from Jesus!
